I fixed it by clicking the little paint brush and choosing an option. But I don’t know how I got in this state to begin with.
In addition to fixing that bug, can the style be set to “main” as I think it used to be?
And why did whoever did this think that a black background was a good idea?

It seems to be some kind of caching issue - a force-reload fixed it for me.
I tried that actually but it wasn't sufficient for me.
