Getting involved

Hi - I'm about 4 weeks old in Rust, and like the language a lot. What is a good way for me to become involved in developing the compiler? I'm particularly interested in optimisation and the type system. I'd be happy to start with some "boring but necessary" issues, and would very much like some form of mentoring or review to get me going.

Cheers Matthew

My quick suggestion is join Zulip, you can find instructions on rust-lang.org. There's where most of the rustc people is around.

I have a lot of small tasks that I need to document in some way that I think may be cool kind of first issues/refactors around rustc. I'm not a rustc expert or anything similar to that but I could also help youa bit with that.
