The 1.85.1 pre-release is ready for testing. The release is scheduled for March 18. Release notes can be found here.
You can try it out locally by running:

The release team is also thinking about changes to our pre-release process: we'd love your feedback on this GitHub issue.
We've been saying this for four years, it looks like the most recent discussion on that issue was several years ago. Are we actually planning to change anything or is this just boilerplate?
That's boilerplate, and doesn't say "planning" per se, but it's always worth thinking about. Maybe we should simplify the message to something like "If you have feedback about our pre-release process, please use this issue." Or we could close that issue and point to zulip instead.
