Keep some humanity in Rust statements

My girlfriend told me to look at this post but I didn’t have a chance to say something. But I want to propose the opposite of it, to keep some humanity and stand with more unheard minority groups. As a Russian and a Ukrainian, I feel complicated about this war. I grow up in Korea, but my mother who grew up in the two countries teaches me Russian and Ukrainian history.

I disagree with opinions in the post. The statement in 1.59.0 announcement warms me and I think other people are warmed too. So I want statements like this. And saying nothing means saying something! I see @matklad says Rust also stands with LGBTQ+ community. This makes me feel warmed too, because in Korea this community was not very visible either. I and my girlfriend feel alien too. But I didn't find the annoucement about LGBTQ+, did I miss anything?

Although I don’t agree with @HuaguoShan, I thank him/her to bring this topic. I think it makes sense to have a special platform or channel to record these announcements. And we should make them public and easily accessible to everybody. So keep some humanity and stand with more unheard groups.

Thank you!

Thank you for supporting my most important point, although you did not understand my other points. Never mind. Thanks again.

I think you need to came up with a more concrete proposal. Establishing such platforms isn't easy task, and people behind Rust project are already overwhelmed with work, so just asking them to design and implement something like that most likely wouldn't yield any result in a meaningful term.

If you're really concerned about unheard groups you need to put some effort into explaining how exactly Rust community may support them and how exactly the proposed platform would look. That said, the idea has a lot of sense but some voluntarily effort is required from you to push it forward.

Please refrain from making threads to talk about locked threads. When we lock threads, it's because we feel the conversation is no longer viable. While it's possible that discussion had more productivity left in it, it wasn't coming out at that point.
