This RFC has gotten surprisingly little attention from the community, but in the past many people have expressed a desire for this change.

I really want to see this accepted.
While I don’t think it will help users of futures understand how to use futures better, I think it will help with making the implementation of futures more obvious. And well, compile time > run time.
