# Rust 1.99.1 pre-release testing

The 1.99.1 pre-release is ready for testing. The release is scheduled for October 15. [Release notes can be found here.](https://dev-doc.rust-lang.org/1.99.1/releases.html)

You can try it out locally by running:

```rust
RUSTUP_DIST_SERVER=https://dev-static.rust-lang.org rustup update stable

```
